Case Studies

Immersive Display work with a diverse range of companies and institutions to create and design high quality immersive visual displays. We have worked on and produced projects such as museum exhibits, concert light shows, virtual driving simulators and trade show stands.

The Virtual Dive Bell

The Virtual Dive Bell was a concept born from the need to create a new and exciting museum exhibit at the Lakeside Aquarium in conjunction with leading creative agency, Flaming Pear.

The dive bell consists of a created set encasing 3 x ImmersaPod 2.0 systems and 3 touch screen kiosks to create a virtual underwater victorian dive bell. Visitors to the attraction are treated to visual displays from a virtual crocodile, hippo and shark and can play interactive games with the underwater creatures.

The British Columbia Explorer at the Bejing Olympics

Immersive Display Solutions was pleased to be chosen recently by Red Gypsy Animation (since renamed to Xpletive, Inc.) as the visual display provider for the British Columbia Explorer, an interactive location-based multimedia production.  The BCE experience was developed for The Government of Canada, in partnership with the Province of BC, to promote all of Canada at the British Columbia, Canada, diplomatic pavilion in Beijing, China, the site of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.  Situated near the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in Beijing, the 21,000 square-foot Pavilion showcases highlights of British Columbia culture, tourism, and businesses, and promotes the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympics Winter Games.  The pavilion opened on May 22, 2008.
The visual displays (2 ImmersiveDome 200H systems were purchased) included a 2-meter diameter hard-shell hemispherical dome integrated with an OmniFocus™ HAL-SX3 projection system providing SXGA+ resolution at 3,500 lumens.  Spherical projection was enabled by the OmniMap ‘plugin’ for MetaVR VRSG 5.4, which allows fly-through of the geometrically-corrected imagery at an ultra wide angle 180° x 135° field of view.
