The Racing Pod

The Racing Pod utilises a genuine Formula Renault carbon fibre cockpit and specially designed extruded acrylic that contains light diffuser (DF) beads. These give the material its satin surface and intensive translucency properties.

The Racing Pod is approximately 8 feet in length and 4 feet in width. It is built with a force-feedback steering wheel and steel foot pedals. The ingenuity of the Pod means that if a racer 'crashes' their car, the software will automatically adapt to make the car react in the exact way it would if a genuine crash had happened (i.e it becomes harder to drive). When showcased recently at the Excite! 2009 show, comments such as 'realistic' and 'so much fun.' were given in feedback.
